Pack the iHeartArt Travel Art Pack for Watercolor Trips

Why the Travel Art Pack simplifies packing

The iHeartArt Travel Art Pack Watercolors + Fine Line Pen is designed to keep watercolor painting on the go simple. It combines 16 watercolor cakes, a fine line black pen, a water brush, and a 25-page drawing paper pad in one mini portfolio. Because everything is together, you don't need to gather separate supplies—just grab the pack and go.

For travel, that means fewer items to remember and less chance of forgetting a brush or paper. The pack measures 11.25” x 6.5” x 1.25”, so it fits easily into a backpack or tote. It's a practical choice for art supplies for travel with kids, especially since it's rated for ages 6 and up.

How to pack and use the Travel Art Pack

1. Check the contents before you leave: Confirm you have the 16 watercolor cakes, fine line pen, water brush pen, 25-page pad, and Techniques Guide. The guide shows how to use the watercolors and pen, and includes a practice project.
2. Keep the portfolio closed and flat: The pack is a mini portfolio with supplies on one side and the paper pad on the other. Store it closed to protect the paper and keep small pieces from shifting.
3. Use the water brush for controlled water: The water brush pen lets you paint without a separate water cup. Fill it according to the Techniques Guide (if it includes instructions) and practice on a spare sheet to get a feel for the water flow.
4. Plan for drying time: Watercolor needs time to dry. If you're painting on the go, allow a few minutes before closing the pad to avoid smudging. The fine line pen can be used after the watercolor is dry for crisp details.
5. Try the practice project first: The Techniques Guide includes a practice project so you can test the watercolors and pen before starting your own artwork. This helps you learn how the colors behave on the included paper.

Portable watercolor set tips for smoother trips

• Practice at home first: Try the Techniques Guide's practice project before your trip so you know how much water to use and how the colors mix.
• Pack a small water bottle for refills: The water brush holds water, but for longer sessions you may need to refill it. A small bottle ensures you don't run out.
• Keep the paper pad dry: If painting outdoors, avoid setting the pack on wet surfaces. The portfolio helps, but the paper is still vulnerable to moisture.
• Use the fine line pen after watercolor dries: Ink can smudge on wet watercolor. Wait for the paint to dry before adding details with the pen.

What the supplied information does not cover

The product record does not include specific instructions for filling the water brush, cleaning the watercolor cakes, or drying times. The Techniques Guide inside the pack likely covers usage, but we cannot confirm its exact contents beyond the practice project. For care and safety, always follow the guide included with the product. Also, the pack is not described as waterproof or washable, so keep it dry and wipe clean only with a dry cloth if needed.
