Learn how to use the Richard Scarry's Busy World: Art on the Go! kit for mess-free travel fun. Perfect for preschool kids aged 3-5.
Quick answer
Unpack the kit, choose an activity page, and let your preschooler color, sticker, and play—all from the portable folder.
Why this kit works for travel
The clever folder design keeps crayons and stickers contained, so you don't lose pieces on the go. The 50-page pad offers 25 unique activities, giving variety without overwhelming young children.
What to expect from the activities
Pages include connect-the-dots, mazes, and sticker scenes. They are designed for ages 3-5, so fine motor skills are still developing. Some pages may need adult help for the first few dots or maze turns.
Steps to use the kit
- Open the folder and lay out the pad: Unfold the kit's outer cover to reveal the pad. Flip to the first activity page. Keep the folder open so the sticker sheets and crayons stay accessible. Avoid tearing pages out; the pad is designed to stay bound.
- Choose an activity page: Let your child pick a page they like. The kit has connect-the-dots, mazes, and coloring scenes. For younger kids, start with a simple coloring page. If a maze seems too hard, try the sticker scene instead.
- Use the crayons and stickers: Color with the 8 crayons provided. Peel and place stickers on the scene. The stickers are reusable on the glossy pages, so kids can reposition them. Remind children not to press too hard with crayons; the paper is sturdy but not thick.
- Store completed art in the back folder: After finishing, slide the page into the built-in folder at the back. This keeps the art safe and the kit organized for next time. Check the folder before travel to avoid crushed crayons.
